The BikeDFW UPSHIFT Awards are community-driven awards!! We asked you, our community members, to nominate and vote for your Bike Heroes...those that encourage, support and inspire you as riders of the Dallas-Fort Worth community, and you all blew us away with your efforts!!
More than 100 nominations were made, 1600+ people voted, and 8000+ votes were tallied, and we are SO excited to share the Winners of the 2021 BikeDFW UPSHIFT Awards with you!!

The Lifetime Achievement award goes to Bud & Annie Melton for making substantial contributions to the movement to make Dallas-Fort Worth a better place to bike, and has given tirelessly to promote bicycle advocacy in the region during their lifetime.
The Veloteer of the Year award goes to our Adult Learn to Ride Coordinator, Glenda Endres in thanks for having gone above and beyond the call of duty for an extended period of time by providing volunteer service benefitting bicycling.
The Heart & Soul award goes to Bike Friendly South Dallas in honor of them creating inclusive opportunities to learn, build community, and create a diverse and equitable cycling community.
The Vision Zero award goes to past Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price for promoting and enabling increased adoption and support for cycling, as well as improved safety and convenience for bicyclists.
Mobility Champion of the Year award goes to Shawnee Trail Cycling Club for being a tireless advocate for cycling and all modes of transportation in the Dallas-Fort Worth region.
The Educator of the Year award goes to Jerry Hubbard for giving of his time and energies to educate the community on safe cycling in an impactful way.
The Trail Champion of the Year award goes to Dallas Off-Road Bicycle Association - DORBA for all they do to make the use of trails easier or possible in some significant way.
The Bike Club/Group of the Year award goes to Plano Bicycle Association for inspiring, supporting and encouraging people to ride their bikes.
The Bike Shop of the Year award goes to Bike Mart for going above and beyond to encourage, support and promote bicycling in the region.
The Bike Friendly Business of the Year award goes to Four Corners Brewing Co. because they make it their business to embrace our Dallas-Fort Worth rider community with exceptional bike-friendly practices.
Congratulations to each and every winner and nominee; shout out to the community for making this such an awesome experience; and special thanks to our friends at Re-GEARED for the awesome awards we got to present!! There is NO QUESTION we have an amazing cycling community here in Dallas-Fort Worth!!!
