It was so good to have the chance to celebrate Bike Month with a little more normality this year, and we are thrilled to have had so many celebrating with us.
National Bike Month is promoted by the League of American Bicyclists and celebrated in communities from coast to coast. Established in 1956, National Bike Month is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more folks to give biking a try. In 2021, we celebrated ways to #BikeThere during the month of May. There are so many ways to celebrate Bike Month and to #BikeThere: during Bike to Work Week (and Day!), biking to coffee or around the block, and biking for transportation. With a focus on individual and community wellbeing, we highlighted how you can #BikeThere during Bike Month. Whether you’re riding for fun, fitness or with family, or taking essential trips to work or shop, you are part of our movement for safer streets, connected communities, a healthier planet, and happier people.
Our 2021 #BikeThereDFW Ride Challenge was a great way to celebrate #BikeMonth with the community and bike to places that you might normally drive to for a chance to receive some fun giveaways. This FREE program enrolled folks in a four-week experience in which they received weekly emails with tips, resources, a weekly bike challenge, and more to motivate them to #BikeThereDFW during Bike Month.
Our friends at Bullzerk worked with us to create an awesome May is Bike Month t-shirt, and we will have them at events until we run. out!! As always, Bullzerk nailed it with the design, and the softest shirts around!!
Bike to Work Week, and Bike to Work Day gave us a chance to share the joys of using the bike as a means of transportation. We were thrilled to have the chance to partner with Merit Coffee - Deep Ellum to have a Coffee Stop on the morning commute, and Four Corners Brewing Co. for a Happy Hour on the evening commute on Bike to Work Day! Thanks to all that came out and celebrated with us!!
Welcome to all of our new Members that joined us during our Bike Month Membership Drive!! We are grateful for your support!! Membership is incredibly important for us to be able to continue our efforts in the community. If you have not yet become a Member, we hope you will consider doing so!!
