Registration and Information
Make plans for a fabulous day of Texas springtime cycling in the beautiful countryside fifteen minutes south of downtown Dallas! For the 18th year, the Greater Dallas Bicyclists, together with the City of Lancaster, is staging the Lancaster Country Ride on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 9 am.
Join the Greater Dallas Bicyclists' annual rally and cycle along the scenic back roads of Ellis County visiting the small communities of Ferris and Palmer. The routes traverse flats, rolling hills and some challenging climbs. Rest stops are situated every 12 miles with water, sports drink and fruit. The ride is held near the peak of the wildflower season and the routes feature gorgeous landscapes with dense concentrations of Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush.
The first 1,000 registrants receive Lancaster GDB socks!
Start/Finish: The ride starts at 9 AM near the historic Lancaster town square off Main Street and Dallas Avenue.
After the ride: Stick around and visit more than a hundred artist booths at Lancaster's Fair on the Square, which is held in conjunction with the rally. The Fair runs from 10AM to 4 PM on the town square and features live music.
Mileage options: 24, 42 and 62 miles with a staggered start for safety. We have scouted the routes to ensure smooth roads and scenic countryside. The 42 and 62 mile options take you on the Bluebonnet Trail via beautiful (and hilly) Sugar Ridge Road.
