What was forecast to be a rainy Saturday turned into a picture-perfect day for celebrating the Grand Opening of DART’s Silver Line at Addison Station!
The sunshine seemed to arrive right on cue as hundreds of North Texans came out to explore the new line, enjoy live music and local vendors, and dream about what this new connection will mean for our region.
BikeDFW was proud to be part of the celebration — sharing resources, maps, and conversation with everyone from those thinking about riding again to seasoned cyclists eager to ride even more. Over and over, we heard how the Silver Line feels like the missing link that will help people move more freely across the Metroplex. Many visitors shared plans to combine the train with their bike commute or weekend rides, saying it finally feels easier to “go multimodal.”
Our team had a blast hosting the MultiModal Challenge, where visitors who rode both their bike and the Silver Line could find our table, say the password “Connections,” and scan a special QR code to enter for prizes. The enthusiasm was contagious — and we can’t wait to draw our winners this Wednesday, October 30!
The day perfectly reflected what BikeDFW is all about: building bridges between people, places, and modes of movement. We’re grateful to DART for inviting us to celebrate this milestone, to our team for all their work, and to everyone who stopped by to chat, share a story, or make a new connection.
Stay tuned to our social channels for the MultiModal Challenge prize announcement, and keep an eye out for more opportunities to roll, ride, and connect across North Texas. Together, we’re making it easier — and kinder — to move through our region on two wheels and beyond.
