May 21st is National Bike to Work Day, an event started and promoted by the League of American Bicyclists to encourage the use of alternative transportation by getting Americans to leave their cars at home one day a year and ride a bicycle to work. We encourage our friends to get involved by organizing and participating in an BTW event to help raise awareness of this green and healthy alternative for getting to work. You can download materials related to Bike to Work Day from the LAB web site.
We've started a list of Bike to Work Day events in the DFW area. We hope you'll help promote this fun way of raising awareness of bicycle commuting by adding your event - email

If you work at UT Southwestern, Parkland Hospital, Children's Medical Center, or anywhere near the Medical District, meet up with commuter convoys leaving from various parts of Dallas and beyond.
Bike to Work participants are invited to gather at the Intermodal Transportation Center at Ninth and Jones streets following their bike ride to work to learn how the bus or train can help make bicycling a viable alternative, even for commuters who travel long distances. Free snacks will be provided from 7-9 a.m. for all bicycle riders.
