As mentioned, you can start with a good quality road bike from $500. Pricing increases steeply depending on the components and frame type chosen, too. Typically the lighter the bike the more expensive it will be. Starter bikes can go up to about $1000 and after a grand you’re looking at more professional versions with state of the art gears and technology. You can see this site. http://empireroadbikes.com/

Lake Grapevine has so many great trails, both paved and off road for mountain biking!

Can you add the linear park in Mansfield? Nice paved paths to bike through, connecting three city parks. Mostly smooth riding, but one section also climbs “Red Bluff,” a pretty steep hill that, at one time, was a central part of Mansfield’s pioneer history.

I hope that this gets connected to other parts of the regional Veloweb soon! As more trails get built, connectivity becomes the really big issue — the elephant in the room!

Please include the Cottonbelt Trail through Colleyville. It’s a great trail that parallels the railroad track. http://www.traillink.com/trail/cotton-belt-trail.aspx

I definitely agree that the Northeast Texas Trail should be included.
